I got into designing fashion from a pretty young age. My great-grandmother used to sew everything for my mother. When she passed, I was given all her fabric. That’s when my grandmother began teaching me how to sew. After a few classes, I fell in love with sewing and drawing fashion illustrations. Overtime, I stopped designing for fun and rather, just for assignments. During quarantine, I began drawing for fun again. My inspiration came from studying Jean-Michel Basquiat’s paintings. This piece was an experiment for me because it was my first time drawing a male model. I really wanted to try designing for different genders, which is different from what I normally do.
