SEPTEMBER STAFFER OF THE MONTH

Mia Salvador

Why did you decide to join seeds?

Honestly, I joined Seeds because a lot of my friends are on it, and because I just wanted to be a part of something and contribute to the school and, obviously, I love art, I love writing, I love poetry, I love all the components of Seeds. It just felt like a place that I would fit in.

What do you like most about the social media section so far?

I like my section because it's small. It's pretty much just me and then my editor, Sloane. There's a video part of social, but they're like their own thing, you know? So me and Sloane, we kind of just work together. I like that I get a lot of freedom and independence. I just make the posts and throw them out there.

What do you enjoy most about being in Seeds?

I love the people. I think everyone on staff really cares about each other. It's just a great, unique experience because everyone is really dedicated to Seeds and also very laid-back. It's a relaxing but motivating atmosphere.

What are some goals you are proud of accomplishing in seeds?

I’m definitely proud of my posts. I'm really motivated because I have a lot of fun. That’s another thing I love about Seeds; it's a lot of fun for me, so I actually enjoy producing the posts. I think I've been really prolific about posting, and I'm getting everything out there that needs to be out there, and I'm doing it in a timely manner, so I'm proud of myself for that.

What about communication arts interests you? How does that translate into Seeds?

I’m a digital major, but I still have a strong love for writing, and I honestly like the design aspect. In communications, there's a lot more variety with the kinds of things that you all do. I like that it's not strictly academic stuff. There are still design and art aspects, which is why I like what I do a lot. My interest translates into Seeds because I love art, and I like designing, and I like graphic design. I get this is a space where I can do that, and I really appreciate that.
