Formed during the solitude of quarantine, my artwork began to reflect the visceral experience of introspection. I began to use myself and my family history as a source of inspiration, especially our life in the American Midwest. In “Ignite,” I used the image of a midwestern home in flames to depict the breakup of traditional American life, drawn from personal experience.
