RHYTHM OF REFUGE — AMBER HANSEN ‘22
“Rhythm of Refuge” combines the contrasting themes of chaos and order with an illustration of my room. The untidiness of the clutter is a visual representation of the chaos in my life, slowly accumulating from constant activity, while the harmony of my familiarity with the clutter contributes to a sense of order. I first created a black and white acrylic painting of the room, capturing monochrome darks and lights, and then I layer-applied a tinted transparent glaze for color.
